Cutting-Edge Innovation in Hospitality Communications

For 20 years Bittel has led the way in introducing innovative features and functions to hotel and guestroom communications.  Bittel's in-house Research and Development is located on the same campus as the manufacturing and testing facilities - allowing Bittel's teams of expert engineers and designers to test new ideas, concepts and innovations - and then bring them into production fully tried and tested.  To date, Bittel has 17 patented features and functions designed around the principles of increasing convernience, safety, privacy and comfort for phone users.  Ultimately Bittel's range of phones and appliances offer superior functionality and ease of use - prompting more engagement from the guest, and maximum return on investment (ROI) for the hotelier.

The models are compatible with Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Cisco, Mitel, AVAYA, NEC, Siemens and other mainstream IP PBX.

Innovative Features and Functions available only from Bittel

FacePlate Plus

An additional detachable placard which clips onto the phone unit and compliments the primary faceplate of the Bittel phone.  This simple and optional addition allows a hotel the opportunity to present more information to the guest about guest services, facilities, user instructions or room information.  The FacePlate Plus placard requires no additional surface space and is a solid fixture for displaying important up-to-date guest information which can easily changed from time to time.

Magnetic Hook-Switch

Instead of the traditional mechanical hook-switch, Bittel's patented Magnetic Hook-Switch technology uses magnetic proximity to detect when the handset is re-located on the base, and also to ensure it stays securely in place.  This innovation prolongs the life of the phone as it is less prone to water and dust ingress; it is also easier to clean and looks far neater too.

SmartTray

The optional fully-detachable SmartTray is a place to store the cord neatly within the footprint of the phone.  With use, the SmartTray can prolong the life of the cord protecting it from abrasions and excessive twisting, and also prevent accidental dislocation and therefore potential damage to the handset itself.  The SmartTray also allows for easier cleaning and re-positioning of the phone.

Membrane Keypad and Faceplate

Bittel has developed the unique Membrane Keypad which uses a smooth, fully water resistant, touch-sensitive, membrane - instead of traditional plastic buttons.  As well as being pleasant to use, it is easier to clean and significantly extends the life of the keypad over and above traditional keypads.  The membrane itself incorporates the faceplate for a single smooth finish.

Dual-Dial Keypads

Guests demand ease, comfort and convenience when making and receiving telephone calls.  Their mobile phone affords them this luxury - and so should the guestroom phone.  The Dual-Dial Keypad innovation from Bittel places a fully functional keypad on the handset itself, making it easy for the guest to use the phone whilst relaxing on the bed or in a comfortable chair.  This simple innovation encourages the guest to use the phone for outbound calls, and to access the services of the hotel.

Programmable Guest Service Keys

Programmable Guest Service Keys make it easy and intuitive for guests of all nationalities to access the facilities of the hotel.  These are an important function of the guestroom phone - however, over time, the pre-programmed settings stored on the primary capacitor of the phone can get lost or become corrupted.  Bittel's unique E2Prom Software captures this information to physical memory (equivalent to a computer hard disk) so the programmed settings are far more reliable and resilient to power fluctuations and component degradation.

Express Programmer

Programming guestroom telephones can be an arduous task that is both costly and time consuming.  Bittel's patented Express Programmer devices allow you to clone the settings of one phone and apply them to every other phone with 100% accuracy and far improved speed and efficiency.

HiSpeed Data Port

The High Speed Data Port is an integrated feature of the 47 Series Guestroom phone.  The High speed data port enables the guest to access broadband services via a wired RJ45 Ethernet interface direct from the phone base itself.  This saves on desk space and wiring and is a useful all-in-one feature.

Privacy Guard CID

Guestroom phones fitted with a Caller Display (CID) will show the incoming caller's telephone number.  This is a very useful feature for the guest which allows them to review the caller prior to taking the call.  However guests may be concerned that details of their calls may be stored indefinitely in the phone and might not protect their privacy.  The Privacy Guard CID feature from Bittel clears the memory of the phone removing private details within 60 seconds of the call, thereby protecting the guest's privacy.

Privacy Guard Redial

The Redial function of the guestroom phone stores details of the last number dialed, allowing the guest to re-dial the number by pressing one button.  This is a useful feature but guests may be concerned that details of their calls may be stored indefinitely in the phone and might not protect their privacy.  The Privacy Guard Redial feature from Bittel clears the memory of the phone after five minutes thereby retaining the useful function but also protecting the guest's privacy.

Auto-Connect

Whilst cleaning or during the course of normal use, it is possible that the handset of the phone can become dislodged from its cradle.  Under normal circumstances the phone will be unreachable and will register to inbound callers as engaged on another call.  The Auto-Connect feature from Bittel allows the phone to recognize when it is inactive and offline for long periods and will reset the phone enabling it to ring again for incoming calls.  This is an optional capability for Bittel's premium guestroom phones.

SOS Call

For bathroom use, the hotel may just wish to offer an emergency intercom function rather than a fully featured telephone.  The SOS Call option for Bittel's bathroom phones enables a single pre-programmed emergency guest service key which guests can use in the case of emergency and to call for assistance.

EZ Message Retrieval

The Easy Message Retrieval function of Bittel's hospitality phones allows guests to quickly and easily access their voice messages.  The Message Waiting Light (MWL) is also the message retrieval button, which is both an intuitive, quick, and easy process for accessing voice messages for a guest regardless of their degree of familiarity with the phone.

No Handset Phone

Bittel's No Handset Phone uses an intercom rather than a traditional handset.  This type of phone is an option for use in bathrooms where guests want to keep their hands free for other purposes!  The No Handset Phone allows the guest to make and receive calls just like a normal phone but without the handset, and it offers excellent communication for up to 5 meters away.

Clockphone

A useful feature particularly for business guests is to have an LCD clock integrated into the phone.  Using line power technology the clock's accuracy is maintained centrally by the PBX system and can operate without batteries or any maintenance for very long periods of time.  The Clockphone feature is available for both guestroom and bathroom phones.
